DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
This position will manage the Advanced Instrumentation Group activities including applications of nonstandard automotive, diesel engine instrumentation, and of engine instrumentation technology for use by Plymouth Technical Center. Establish cost for contract testing for internal and customer tests. Manage quality and content of customer presentations and reports from the Instrumentation Group. Support customer teams and design as required. Knowledge of internal combustion engines and instrumentation techniques required. Awareness of advances in instrumentation and applications to IC engines as well as engine and customer technical trends in anticipation of applying instrumentation techniques. Manage quotations for customer teams to present to Federal-Mogul customers requiring instrumentation or noise measurement services. Approve the purchase goods and services as needed to support this activity. Manage supplier relationships to support this activity.
Manage personnel in the Advanced Instrumentation group.
Develop and control budget for the group.
Must manage the process and interpretation of measurement data generated by group or externally.
Approve designs to support the Engine component instrumentation activities of the company.
Approve procurement of equipment and components as needed to support instrumentation needs.
Meet with customers when appropriate to maximize efficiency in satisfying customer needs and expectations.
Meet with suppliers / potential suppliers to support instrumentation procurement and development.
Support customer visits on noise measurement and component instrumentation at Plymouth Technical Center.
Drive Plymouth Technical Center's instrumentation technologies.
Communicate with other Federal-Mogul entities to support instrumentation capability and knowledge throughout the group.
Oversee or develop calibration of various sensors.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S with 10 years experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
