JOB SUMMARY
The Design Engineer is responsible for supporting and modifying existing products for the Industrial Coating Systems organization for worldwide markets.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage multiple projects required to support existing products including Engineering Change Requests for current product offering, addressing customer Corrective Action Requests, leading Reduction of Cost projects as well as supporting design changes per customer order for existing equipment. Must be able to work with marketing, purchasing, and manufacturing to drive projects to completion. Perform design calculations or analysis required for design of components or sub-systems. The calculations or analysis might include stress analysis, force/load/deflection on mechanical parts and air flow/pressure calculations for pneumatic components or systems. Make design recommendations for materials, manufacturing methods and component selections. Build and test design concepts and engineering prototypes for verification. This includes compiling and presenting data to support design verification. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment. Additional qualifications are as follows:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Experience:
Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3-D modeling software, Inventor or Solidworks experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Minimum of two (2) years of design experience required. Experience in valves/machine design/component design preferred.

Resourceful in gathering and retrieving information from external sources (ie internet) Excellent work ethic Good organizational skills as well as data and information management skills for future retrieval Must be willing to learn new information quickly and apply basic design practice and theory to a wide range of products/developments/design Positive mental attitude Outgoing personality while communicating with people Excellent computer skills Self starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented contributor who is willing to work well on a team
