Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsible for requesting and receiving CAD data in formats that can be translated out of the customers CAD platform into VRSIs CAD platform; organizing and storing CAD data on VRSIs server in the correct format, and designing custom mechanical components; updating and modifying current standard VRSI part designs to adapt to engineering changes; analyzing vehicle features in CAD to determine how to best layout VRSIs sensors to fully constrain the part and meet the design requirements; building working models that integrate VRSIs sensors and mounting hardware on the customers tooling model; collaborating with the customer design lead to solve all interferences and other design related issues; developing deliverables/design output for installation and system buy-off including developing 2d detail and assembly drawings, callout drawings, hardware BOMs and SOCs; and designing extracting images to aim sensors to and 3D PDFs for the installation team.
Location: Plymouth, MI
Salary: $78,915 per year.
Education: Masters in Mechatronic Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study; (will also accept equivalent foreign degree).
