Description/Job Summary
Sales Application Engineer (Account Manager)
Responsible for developing new customers and programs while maintaining and growing existing business for the Vibration Control System (VCS) group.
Responsibilities/Duties
Develop new business through contacts with existing customers, and develop relationships with new customers.
Manage the RFQ process (including IRR coordination & preparation), PRA's, PEC's, orders received, continuous improvement and product life cycle.
Support product launches and MLP process for new business activities. Support commercial issues and business unit engineering activity.
Develop strategic and tactical strategies to meet corporate growth and profitability objectives.
Maintain existing business.
Negotiate pricing, tooling cost, capital recovery programs, and long-term sourcing agreements.
Monitor customer requirements in areas of quality, delivery and engineering changes.
Ensure that identified business goals are met to achieve the operating group budget.
Support RFA process where required through all necessary approval levels.
Required Skills
Demonstrated leadership skills and proficient in team building and conflict resolution.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills.
General understanding of product / process technology, markets and automotive business environment.
Excellent facilitation skills with an ability to balance technical solutions against economic and human factors.
Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years related experience interfacing with Automotive OEM/ Tier 1 customers, product engineering and manufacturing.
Experience with casting and machining process technology preferred.
Required Education
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
