As an SME Safety Manager, you will work closely with SME's Safety Director, specialist and coordinators to drive our culture of caring, lead safety initiatives, and enforce Safety policy, as well as, local and federal safety standards.
As a member of the leadership team, you will work with other leaders, groups and offices to support all functions of our safety program.
Responsibilities:
In support of SME's Safety Director, you will:
Leadership/collaboration:
Drive the safety culture within the organization.
Oversee and ensure the safety of team members.
Mentor and Team Leadership of safety Team Members and assist in their development.
Compliance:
Enforce corporate and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards.
Identify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective action.
Communication:
Prepare memos, notices, letters and training materials and ensure it is properly communicated to employees Specialization:
Develop, coordinate, and implement safety programs.
Partner with Project Managers to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning of project work.
Lead safety initiatives.
Training:
Aid with safety training and orientation.
Core Competencies:
Has competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Must be able to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
Has a general aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
Qualifications 10
years' experience managing the safety function of a company Bachelor's degree in Safety Management (or similar degree) OR one of the following certifications required:
Federal OSHA Professional Certificate in OHS, CHST, STSC, CSP Advanced knowledge of health/safety regulations/requirements, terminology and concepts.
Experience with OSHA/Safety related record keeping and reporting.
Preferred experience with reporting to safety auditing databases such as Avetta, ISNetworld, PEC Premier or similar.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
