Product Development Engineer
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for overseeing the testing of new products, ensuring they meet certification requirements, program specifications, and safety standards. They collaborate with certification committees and regulatory bodies to develop testing plans, coordinate validation tests, compile test reports, and ensure compliance with certification criteria.In addition to these responsibilities, the Product Development Engineer designs and conducts tests during product development. Tasks include creating test equipment, developing procedures, conducting on-vessel testing, documenting tests, performing tear-down and assembly of products, and managing DVP and DFMEA documents.Key
Qualifications:
Interface with domestic and international governing bodies. Coordinate testing with certified laboratories, verify results, and compile reports. Design, build, and operate in-house test equipment for product validation. Use relevant software for conceptualizing ideas. Develop and manage DVP and DFMEA documents. Create prototypes using rapid manufacturing and fabrication processes. Conduct product testing during the design phase. Optimize product design for market, budget, and environmental considerations. Generate and present reports based on analysis and test results. Maintain documentation throughout the development and production process. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. Up to 30% travel required. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Strong understanding of powertrain applications. Enthusiasm for boating and water activities. Proficiency in SolidWorks, certification highly desirable. Demonstrated innovation. Mechanical aptitude. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Strong hands-on assembly skills. Hands-on boating experience and knowledge of boat rigging. Proficient with computers and Microsoft applications. Experience with data acquisition and post-processing. Able to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
