Materials Launch Coordinator

Objective of JobThe Materials Launch Coordinator is responsible to order, track, and manage all pre-production materials required to successfully execute all related build events on the PLUS build events summary matrix.
These events will include run-offs at tools shops and equipment vendors, parts for internal and customer testing, and the initial builds at the production facility which are not scheduled as part of the normal materials ordering systems (MRP).
These pre-production run-offs and build events may include expediting materials between facilities which are producing sub-assemblies and full assemblies and tracking international shipments to support global programs and best cost country (BCC) sourcing of tools and equipment.
Materials Launch Coordinators will be required to provide key input to the Parts Matrix including revision level tracking and will be required to support status reports for each build event on the build event summary matrix.
In addition, Materials Launch Coordinators play a vital role in effectively executing the Change Management process.
Main tasks/important responsibilities Support Program Manager in maintaining the build event matrix and summary for all pre-production build events including tooling and equipment run-offs.
Order, track, and manage deliveries of materials including raw materials to support program timing requirements for each build event including tooling and equipment run-offs.
Maintain revision level tracking for each part/material required for each build event.
Support Program Managers in maintaining accurate parts matrix.
Execute the Red Flag escalation process for any materials/issues which will cause the program team to be late for a build event or run-off.
Work with other SDT members to ensure that timing for supplier gages, fixtures, and tools are aligned with the required timing per the build events matrix.
Support the Program Manager(s) in developing tactical plans for implementation timing for changes.
Part delivery tracking and inventory management for pre-production builds.
Coordinate with Purchasing / Packaging team to determine if parts will be quoted in Returnable or Expendables.
If returnable, ensure the team is hitting targets to have them in the loop on time.
Supplier follow-up as needed to maintain program timing.
Providing support and assistance with Change Management tracking and implementation.
Pre-production build event, run-off, and test part order quantity calculations.
Creating requisitions and issuing POs to the supply base in support of program timing.
Prepare Materials Management System (MFG-Pro, IPC, EDIMAT, etc.
) Coordinate with Purchasing to determine approved supplier lead times and INCO terms Maintain PO tracking by event and work with Commercial team to ensure costs are captured.
Requirements 3 years of related work experience or relevant education / degree (Supply Chain / Logistics / Program Management) Experience with J-I-T Manufacturing Preferred Experience in Excel is required and working knowledge of the Parts Matrix.
Experience with MS Project, SAP, QAD/MFG Pro, and Siemens Teamcenter PLM desired.
